Since 1980, the NVBMB invites a renowned biochemist or molecular biologist for an annual lecture tour in the Netherlands. The Speaker of the Year visits multiple universities, sharing insights and engaging with students and scientists. Several speakers later received the Nobel Prize, including Tsien, Nurse, Schekman, and Baker.
